Social Workers

Aimee Anderson

Aimee Anderson, LCSW

Family is central to Aimee Anderson, who focuses on how she would want her family cared for when she plans ways to help her patients.

Married with one daughter, Aimee provides social work services, including mental health counseling, Medicaid/disability education, and resource referrals for cancer patients and their families.

In describing her work, Aimee says, “Assisting each patient with his or her own individual needs from financial to emotional is important part of a patient’s care.” She especially enjoys getting to know patients and families and being a part of the medical team in providing care for patients.

In working with cancer patients, she says she has learned how strong individuals can be. “We are stronger than we know,” she says.

Aimee admires her colleagues at Cancer Specialists of North Florida because of the way they are motivated to continually grow and learn in order to provide the best care for patients as well as how the medical team stays upbeat and focused on the care of the patients.

Aimee has worked with the practice since August 2006.

Prior to joining Cancer Specialists of North Florida, Aimee worked at St. Vincent’s Medical Center as the ICU/Orthopedic Social Worker, Shands Jacksonville as the Neurology Case Manager, and for the Department of Children and Families.

Meredith Harlow

Meredith Harlow, LCSW

Helping others inspired Jacksonville native Meredith Harlow to chose a career in social work. Now, her work with Cancer Specialists of North Florida allows her to get to know patients and their families as she assists them with the challenges that arise after a cancer diagnosis.

In talking about her career, Meredith says, “I love to see the relationships between the staff and the patients. Patients know the staff by name, and the staff really know the patients by name. They create such a warm and inviting atmosphere for patients and their families, which I think is rare, especially in such a big practice.”

Prior to joining Cancer Specialists of North Florida, Meredith worked at St. Vincent’s Medical Center for four years, two years on the Infectious Disease Unit and two years on the Oncology and Stroke Units. She continues to work as a facilitator/counselor for Kids Together Against Cancer, a support group for children who have a parent or guardian who has cancer. She also assists in the Change of Seasons Cancer Support group at the Hill Breast Center.

She works with patients at the Beaches, Southside, and Baptist North offices.

When not working, Meredith enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband, a physical therapist, have two cats and a dog. They like to travel and explore new places. In addition to visiting their parents, who live in Jacksonville, they visit extended family in the Northeast each summer and enjoy outdoor activities after working inside all day.

Additional Qualifications
Meredith is a member of Florida Society of Oncology Social Workers.
